About Us

Crestmore is a small Australian family owned and operated Wholesale Warehousing and Distribution business, established in 1980 in Turramurra, a leafy suburb of Sydney. The journey commenced in an office located at the Directors of Crestmore’s family home, then to a small warehouse in Pymble. As the portfolio grew, the next move was to Crestmore’s current address (next to what might be Willy Wonkers factory for fantastically flavored gum) in the light industrial area of Hornsby. It was here Crestmore made the addition of Tim Wilkinson into the family and business team in the year 2000.

Tim our friendly specialist technician came to us from the Royal Australian Navy operating and maintaining the highly sophisticated and complex Missile Guidance Radar Systems on Charles F Adams Perth Class Destroyers. Having to work with a myriad of challenges from the constant shudders of the sea, to the pounding of the 5” Guns, and the occasional Missile launch, almost the equivalent of putting your hi-fi in a paint mixer down at the local hardware store.  Serving onboard HMAS Hobart (DDG 39) and HMAS Perth (DDG 38), which are now resting safely on the bottom in our coastal waters along with HMAS Brisbane (DDG 41). Although fortunate enough to complete 9 years of service between conflicts, the skills gained from this multifaceted experience have given Tim great insight into what makes any system work at its best, the importance of quality components and connections for the optimum performance and life of a system large or small.

The story of distribution in Australia by Crestmore over the past 26 years has been one of character and style.

Names such as Thorens / Gemini / Stanton and Mission back in the days when………….. Remy Thorens was the driving force behind Thorens, Walter Stanton was deciding how heard vinyl and Farrad Azima had a dream which became Mission and then with the birth of his son Cyrus came the new line of Cyrus electronics.

Brands currently represented by Crestmore are Cyrus / Audiovector / Cyruslink / Lava / Q-Acoustics / Positive Cable and Alphason. All come from prestigious breeding, known well in the high end of sound and image equipment. Disappointed with the loss of some great brands, we are confident in our opinion that the products we have to offer are some of the best in each selected field of expertise.

We are always striving to source the best products, and place them in environments for you to receive the most honest in auditions. Over many years of trading, Crestmore has been fortunate to have formed many great personal and trading relationships with our dealer network. Which benefits us all in having a highly skilled resource available in our chosen stores, and through them we are able to pass our passion for these products onto you.
